Finding Your Inner Unicorn – An Acquisition in Love

The Acquisition of Self

What’s your appraised value?

Inside relationships, it’s important to first understand who’s coming into the relationship, and not just your partner. You need to understand yourself first.

-Lisa Nichols (from the Secret 2006)

Don’t confuse money with love or the need to escape your inner pain through indiscriminate unsafe sex. The desire to quench your thirst for something greater than the physical is perfectly natural. The reason this emotional high you achieve from another person is never realized with just one night. You will always have a void needing to be filled.

Money can buy you many things; last of which is not love. You may say you need to escape from your present reality and you’re so damn sexy those distressed jeans just slide right off you. It’s fine to unwind with the one your body bangs to. Just don’t sell yourself cheap or become someone’s second hand whore.

Sure who doesn’t desire indiscriminate irrational sex, unless you’re celibate…As I give you that inquisitive look like…what the fuck planet you just migrated from. Who doesn’t love to indulge in the passion fruit of love; forbidden or otherwise.

You can crave sexual intimacy like that frappe between your legs. Especially when it’s hotter than hell in the shade. Just get lit in moderation or else your tight little butt gonna hit the floor. Then it’s all fours party time.

But that fantasyperfect (or imperfectly yours) fuck’ should be reserved and cherished like that golden ring which Frodo was appointed to keep away from Sauron.

Maybe we should also guard our hearts, mind, and body in much the same way. You cannot be too careful what you wish for. Because as my mother would say, It’s nice to have the finer things in life, but it comes with a price. Do you really want something or someone so badly you would die for them.

What is your love story? Perhaps we can learn a thing or two from the Garden of Wisdom as brought to light from the ancient texts (paraphrased in our contemporary language).

The sweet, fragrant curves of your body, the soft, spiced contours of your flesh. Invite me, and I come. I stay until dawn breathes it’s light and night slips away. You’re beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless. – Song of Songs 4:6-7 (The Message Bible)

So this I ask of you, on your road trip kissing an angelic fool or whatever unicorn you are riding between your legs.

Isn’t true love worth the wait?
