#BE YOU

The Chainsmokers have been putting out a lot of sick videos and songs like “Don’t let me down” and “#Selfie.”

“Let me take a selfie” has been the most used line in our current pop culture with Selfie being named the word of 2013 by Oxford Dictionary.

“I need you, I need you, I need you right now so (Selfie) don’t let me down.  Because I’m losing my f*cking mind now” seems to be the anthem song of the smartphone/device/tablet generation.

I’m glad we didn’t have smartphones back when I attended college.  It’s like those Hangover movies; we did Vegas and Europe while an exchange student during my four years at California State University, Chico (one of the Playboy top pick colleges for their College Girls Edition).

Later I would travel to the Philippines and see how the tropics roll.  Let’s just say what happened in all these locales stayed there without FB, selfies, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and MySpace.

We were able to enjoy life without the public or even our friends and family knowing unless we told them or showed them the still photographs.  Usually a selfie then meant giving someone else a camera to take a picture of us and then us of them.

I will have to post some of these iconic photos.  Now if I can just find that box of photos.
