Mornings suck but you don’t have to…
The sun is not even up yet. I wake up two hours before my friggin alarm and now can’t go back to sleep.
How many times has this happened to you? Or you go for your usual coffee and after drinking your last sip you get a mouthful of grains; worse yet you spill this crap all over your clean shirt on your way to work.
Rushing, resistance, running on ice it seems to beat this thing called time but we beat our own ass up in the process…
Resistance shouldn’t be at the top of our ‘WTF To Do List’ or the first email with an attachment enticing us to read more about Charlie Sheen’s or Kevin Spacey’s downward spiral to PedoHell.
If someone’s life is deflating ours doesn’t have to as well. So why waste our precious time on this crap when our own House of Cards comes crashing down or we are Two and a Half payments behind on our Visa cards.
Author Steven Pressfield in his book, The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles, has this to say; “The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.”
In other words, the more you go off the beaten down path or venture through life and love the more your ass will get scratched up by the overgrown bushes…maybe even thrown off course into a cactus.
You may get jacked up and more times than you wish, you will fuck it up before you get the damn thing called “Living in the Moment” perfected. But sorry to say, Resistance is that cross we all must bear, but we don’t have to bare it all in shame or naked regret. Unless you are willing to say, to hell with it, stripping off all your hindrances and making your streak public.
Isn’t it time to shuck some oysters and down some sushi with Saki.
